Question by sunny: is teeth whitening gel safe? what happened if you accidently swallowed some? I’m about to try Ortho white?
I have just bought Orthowhite and am trying my 2 weeks free trial – has anyone ever used this before?
I’m a bit of a hyperchondriac so i’m a little worried about the fact that it may harm me if I were to swallow some of the peroxide gel accidentaly! would this be the case?

You will have a very white stomach.
Seriously, don’t worry about it. The peroxide H2O2, will break down to H2O, which is water. The rest will be a nice burp of pure oxygen.

i wouldnt worry.if it was that harmfull they wouldnt recomending putting it in your mouth in the first place.just try not to swallow large amounts as it will make you very sick.personally i think crest strips are fast and east way to whiter teeth.

well i dont actualy know but i would imagine its safe enough to swallow some aslong as it isnt too much. they cant have thousands of people being admitted to hospital over swallowing an oral product which is highly likely to be swallowed accidentaly.

The ortho white works reasonably well,.. about the same as any of the OTC whitening products.
Don’t worry a bit about swallowing the HO solution. It is even touted to be healthy to periodically ingest/swallow a few milliliters of pure hydrogen peroxide (though I don’t recommend it, professionally).
You are invariably going to ingest some of any product you keep in your mouth for a period of time. No worries.

I haven’t tried Ortho White, but I have tried Colgate whitening strips, plus whitening toothpaste together. Teeth whitening is safe in moderation. Most of the over the counter products are peroxide based and therefore a safe and cheap way to whiten your teeth a few shades. It basically just whitens the enamel part of the tooth. Like toothpaste, it’s ok if you accidentally swallow a small amount. Be aware that your teeth may become sensitive during the process, but it will go away shortly after you finish. Also make sure the active ingredients list at least 10% carbamide.
Tip for keeping teeth white: Avoid products that stain teeth like coffee and tea.

I was really wanting to get white teeth for all my holiday pictures so I did some research and found a couple teeth whitening products that work without having to spend hundreds of dollars.

yes it is safe just follow seven steps:-
1. Brush your teeth before applying the gel
2. Put the gel on your bottom tooth first
3. Let the air circulate in your mouth
4. Apply only one coat
5. Abstain from drinking or eating staining beverages or food
6. Stop smoking
7. Religiously apply the gel every night
